Ok so it's me again.

I have put three games onto my sons phone (not sure if we are allowed external links so wont link to the sites just yet.)

I have downloaded and placed in the games folder on the phone, then installed from there and saved to memory card. then go to Java and have installed again - it says it has installed.

When I went to play the game at first it loaded a few title screens but the loading bar never got further than a few centimetres into loading when it froze. I left it for a while as I have read that it can take a while for it to load.

It never got any further so I thought maybe its not as compatible as it claims it is and deleted it from Java and games folder on phone.

I then tried this with another game that is supposedly compatible with the KA08+ and has been tried and tested by a few people.

This time after going through all the installs and telling it to launch all I get is a black screen then when I touch phone it is back to the main menu.

I have tried this a few times and as soon as I say launch game the screen goes black and returns to the menu screen.

Has anybody put any games on the KA08+ and has success in actually playing them?

Anyone who can tell me if I am doing anything wrong or can recommend any sites that have compatible games I would be greatly appreciative.

(As well as putting the games in the games folder I have also tried to put them in the R folder but this has same effect.)

I am assuming that the Java on this phone does not work as others that have the phone have been able to put opera mini and games on this phone yet i cannot.

I shall probably be returning it to the seller - shame my son really likes this phone but think I may have to go for a different model of touch phone as had nothing but problems with this one regarding the Java.

The memory card is 2gb - the games I am trying to load as tersters are 45mb and there is plenty of room on the memory card - virtually empty.

I contacted the seller and they said I am trying to load games that are too high spec for the phone and I should load Java 1.0 games to test it so they included two games for me to test. I have done that and get the same result. It installs from the folder but when I go to launch from the Java app the screen goes black and returns to the menu.

I really think the Java is messed up on this phone.

I'm beginning to lose faith in the chinese phones and may just get my son the bigger LG Viewty or Cookie.

Heu knicky don't dispair.. it's like anything it's not the chinese phones it's some sellers..

you could put your car into a garage to get fixed in a back street place, and they may not do the work properly, or you could go to a reputable dealer with a good reputation and also one to uphold.
If you send it back and get a refund, there are plenty of reputable Uk sellers out there that offer 12 month "UK" warranty and have had all the phones QC'd to ensure the buyer has no or little issues like this.

Hope this helps, though stick with it, they are good little phones.... ;)

The seller will not refund as it is against the company rules apparently. They said they checked the Java before sending and it worked. When I asked how they checked they never answered.

They have offered me a $5 refund to get in repaired at my local repair centre (haha not round here - they wouldn't have a clue) or to return it which will cost me £10 (I have sent one back before) so which ever I choose I lose out.

I just lose faith when I have to keep returning things at my own expense when it is not my fault the phones are faulty.

My son is so disappointed he loves these phones but just wants one that works. (he's gone back to his trusty Samsung Z540v for now - no memory card still no problems accessing Internet which makes me confused about my next question:confused:))

The Internet settings are done but when I try open a page it says not enough memory - is this to do with the memory card or the phone? My Sony Ericsson's W350i has a 515mb card and never has issues with using the web on it. Is this something particular to Chinese phones?

I feel I am banging my head against a wall trying to get these phones configured.

How long did you buy the phone?

Are they business seller?

If so and the phone is not working as it supposed to, (not fit for purpose) (not as desbribed as it wont wor with games) then the seller is legally required to accept the phone back at no cost to the buyer.

This applies under the Distance Seller Regulations Act.

I would threaten them with trading standards (if you from uk) and you can file a complaint with trading standards online.

But from what it seems you bought from another country so things change allot.

wish i could be more helpful.

I had already that to the seller but they just said it is not company policy to refund only exchange but as I said if I have to keep sending phones back it will get to the point where I have spent more on the sending back than on the purchase. My seller is based in Hong Kong.

I said it didn't do what he claims it does - with internet and games but they will only exchange - at my expense.

WAP it on a paypal dispute

I don't normally recommend this but these HK sellers have to realise the rules they are trying to skip over are there for a reason.

I would usually say raise a dispute as a last resort as many sellers do, indeed, provide excellent customer service.

I thought that normal selling rules applied (i.e distance selling) but if they say they do not refund in their liosting then will I not 'lose' a paypal dispute as it is listed as no refund for faulty/damaged goods just replacement.

In my view if something is faulty then you are entitled to either a refund or replacement (whichever customer prefers - that certainly applies to the store I work for which is a major store) but am not up to scratch on HK laws or whether they are actually allowed to say no refunds under any circumstances - that does not seem right with any business.

Anyway I am awaiting areply to my email and many questions I have asked 0 mainly how they tested java.

Thank you all for your replies so far though, much appreciated.

Just a quick update - I got an email back from the seller saying (this is quoted from the email) " As you know, the price of the Chinese phone is quite low, so if sometimes the quality is not so good, you can forgive that, right?" (end quote)

As I said "No I do not expect the quality to be any lower just because the price is lower than it would be if sold in UK stores. In my experience non brand names are usually better than brand names.

I have a cheap 26" LCD HD TV that cost £200 new yet the same thing with Samsung, LG, Hitachi for £400+ is worse for sound . picture etc., "

I am now getting a refund after saying I would forward the email to ebay/paypal and see what they had to say about me expecting the quality to be lower as i only paid £60 for the phone.

My Sony Ericsson W350i was only £60 but quality is much better and everything works.

I am still having to pay for the postage back but at least I am getting a refund.

So my trek starts again. I need to find a phone that has shake control, touch screen, can play games (I think this will require a keypad as well as touch screen as there is limited games that can be played with just the touchscreen) and can access the web.

Not much of a task set by my 11 year old son lol.

Any recommendations would be greatly received.
