Hi,

Well, phone arrived today (sciphone i9+++) and it's not the phone I thought it'd be (I don't think)

Hey ho - it seems good for what it is. I've set up the web access and installed Opera Mini but when I tried to install Google maps it gave me an error about data - guess it's something to do with my contract - but if anyone has any ideas - help would be great ta!

I'm not sure the web access is quite what I want really as I think it's using the telephone line but I'm not sure - this is what I did:

Goto Services
Goto Data Account
Choose GPRS
edit a profile on mine called it Contract O2 on Profile 8

APN (Contract) wap.o2.co.uk
Username (Contract) o2wap
Password password
Auth. Type Normal

2 Edit Browser Profile
Go Back to the Services Menu

Choose WAP
Choose Settings
Choose Edit Profile
Homepage: http://wap.o2.co.uk
Data Account: the one I set up above
Connection Type: Choose HTTP and set proxy to 193.113.200.195 and port to 8080
Username and password should remain empty

It's the HTTP bit that has me worried - if I'm doing it wrong then please let me know and I'll request the set up info from Modcop via the appsettings freecart route.

thank you in advance. think I'll go back to my viewty till I've sorted the i9 out (although my hubby is chomping at the bit to get his hands on it! lol!)

and thanks for your hello's on the other page - nice to be welcomed! :)

Hi Bikerchick, thats not a bad phone to be honest..

you will find these settings son't work manually, you need to really be specific to the [hone.

If you get stuck they are there for sending to you, it will sort all the issues out.

Thanks;);)

Thank you

I've just requested the info via the app settings, just to make it easier for me!

Any ideas on the Googlemap data thing?
