Have purchased a 8mb MP3 Player, Nano Style, 4th generation.
When I connect it to a PURE i-10 Doc, it refuses to play. Any Ideas?
In the instructions for the MP3, it says - If I wish to connect my player
to an IPod Doc, Blight must always be set to ALWAYS.
I cannot find this anywhere on the player to do this.
Hope you can help with the above 2 points.
Many thanks

Hi Dew,

There are many different versions of the firmware around for these type of players and, of course, it depends which manufacturer produced them also.

Basically, when you are using a Dock, it provides power to the player so the battery saving feature which puts the screen to sleep after a certain amount of time is not needed and, in fact, usually conflicts with the dock and stops the two "talking" to each other.

Somewhere in your settings menu , you will have the ability to turn the sleep time to off or 0.

It could be called "LCD Shutdown", "Backlight time", "Blight time", or more commonly "Power Off". When you find one of these settings , set it to 0 .

Make sure you hard set it by pressing the centre button or the play button and then exiting out of the menu rather than switching off.

Switch off and then back on again and check the settings are still set to 0
