Hi everybody!

I've been looking to buy a Windows Platform mobile, preferably dual sim / dual standby and available in different languages, at a reasonable price of course! = chinese import prices :)

Also, is there a big difference between what say, a Windows 6 phone can do, compared to a Java enabled phone? In other words, why do Windows Mobile platform phones cost so much more, and can you get them in different languages?

Hi bigmac..

The biggest differance is the processor it costs a lot more, also the plastics are better and you find alot of these phones have gps and wifi on them which pushes up the price.

Yes they come in differant luanguges, if you need to buy from from a reliable source i can point you in the right direction, as trust me some of the cheaper factories out there that make them, well lets just say they are not the besy and you ould wish you never bought..

I would say fleebay is a nono, buy from somewhere that offers a UK warranty, I am increasingly watching sellers tell there buyers when if a fault occurs (I have to speak to my factory in china) Why???? It really gets my goat.

So go for a good uk company with a UK warranty, thats not to say it will break, you just know that the uk qc is a lot better.

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the info, Modcop....but I was looking to source such a phone direct from the factory in China, if possible. I'm toying with the idea of setting up a small shop over here in Spain, backed up by a virtual shop where of course you can buy the stuff at a better discount....'cos it will be dropshipped, of course.

My first objective however is to get up to speed with all that's out there; so I'm absorbing an enormous amount of information at the moment, before I decide to take the plunge, so finding friendly, informative web sites with people like you on board is a great bonus for me! I'm sure I'll be picking your brains more in the future, but I hope also to contribute if and when I'm able. :)

That's why I asked about the Java enabled phones...I know some business people like to connect to their computers, probably to synchronise their Microsoft Outlook appointments and e-mails etc. I just wasn't sure if this could be achieved using a Java phone, or whether one needed the full blown Windows mobile interface...

He is a very respected man in the import market and you may find him to be a wealth of information (I did) maybee even get you your prices direct from China, trust me he is in the know and they all know him, don't want to say too much a it's not a plugging forum, but I know he is an expert in the art of impoting and dropshipping.

So worth a pm for a chat.
